How Reposit Power works
The Reposit controller connects to your battery and solar inverter. Its AI monitors the wholesale electricity market in real time and forecasts price movements using weather data, grid demand patterns, and machine learning. When the AI predicts a price spike, it pre-charges your battery and then exports at the optimal moment. This can happen multiple times a day during volatile periods. The system also optimises your self-consumption, reducing how much you buy from the grid.
Payment structure
Reposit pays in GridCredits, which appear as credits on your electricity bill with your existing retailer. Rates are variable because they're tied to wholesale prices. During extreme demand events (e.g. 40°C+ days), wholesale prices can hit $1/kWh or higher, meaning a single 2-hour event could earn $10–$20+. On average days, earnings are more modest. Reposit keeps a share of the wholesale revenue (typically around 20%).
Realistic earnings
Top-performing Reposit systems in SA earn $800–$1,000+ per year, driven by SA's high grid volatility. VIC and NSW systems typically earn $400–$700/year. Earnings are highly variable and depend on weather extremes, grid outages, and wholesale price spikes. In a mild year with few extreme events, earnings will be at the lower end.
