Queensland Solar Information

44c Solar Bonus Scheme (Legacy)

Queenslanders who signed up before July 2012 may still receive the legacy 44c/kWh premium tariff. This rate continues until 2028. If you have this rate, avoid system changes that could void the premium.

Queenslands Solar Advantage

Queensland receives more sunshine than most Australian states. A 6.6kW system in Brisbane produces approximately 28kWh per day on average, compared to 23kWh in Melbourne. This higher production can offset lower FiT rates.

Export Limiting

Some areas of Queensland have high solar penetration, leading to network export limits. Check with your installer about any export restrictions in your area.

Make the Most of QLD Sunshine

With lower FiT rates, a battery helps you use more of your abundant solar production.
